The Fountaingrove Inn was an old, dingy hotel. The first night the temperatures were in the 40s and the heat did not function in our room. We were given a space heater that obviously could not be kept running all night long due to safety reasons. We requested a room change and were told they were "sold out". Upon returning to our room the following evening, the air conditioning was again running on max so we entered a 60 degree hotel room. Upon switching to the heat selection, we discovered that it again was not working. We requested a room change yet again and were finally granted one. I would NOT recommend this hotel nor would I ever stay there again.

I really liked this hotel. It was nicely decorated and very comfortable. It was close to downtown Santa Rosa and not very far from the vineyards. The breakfast at the restaurant was good and the staff was very nice and helpful. It was close enough to things without being in the heart of it all. You may be right off of the highway, but inside of the hotel and in the room, you would never know. I was very pleased with my stay at the Foutaingrove.

I've stayed here a few times over the years, has always been very clean, quiet, and comfortable. Rooms have recently been redone & are very nice, bed is comfortable. Rates are very competitive for the area. Would recommend it to anyone.

We stayed two nights in May, 2008. Location is great for those wishing to visit the Russian River Valley and/or Sonoma Valley wineries. The Russian River Valley is beautiful and much more subdued than Napa Valley. I cannot say enough about Karalea, the Guest Experience Manager/Concierge. She went out of her way to guide us through "wine country" and made reservations for us at the wineries who had "reservations only tastings". Dinner in Equus was very good, with great service. We booked a super on-line special that included a full breakfast buffet. Rooms were new and clean, and our junior suite had a refigerator (with water inside) and a coffee maker with real creamers, not the powder!!! I would definitely stay here again.
